May's Big News

We MOVED!

Will catch up on more of the details later on, but here is our new home...

We have 2 little boys who are eager to greet any visitors!!!
Lots of wonderful welcomes we have received from our new block. We miss many of our previous neighbors but they are only a short walk away.  And we will be seeing them when we come back for any repairs/cleaning of our old house... as we are renting it out as a duplex.

We have been a bit busy this past month, as you can now see :)

Recent (not so recent anymore) Weekends, Part II

Yep, missed chronicling all of April.  Found a draft I started in March, which follows below...

March was the start of heavy travel season for Michael.  So the boys and I mixed up over many of the weekends he was gone.  One fabulous adventure was a 2 hour Free Zoo Day... in some unusual March weather!

We checked out the animals and they checked out us.  Looks like the wolf is a bit too close to Handi here, but glass was separating the two of them!

March not only brought lots of snow but a brand new TeePee.

A friend at work shared with me the newest rage on Etsy... TeePees that are made for kids to play in.

Or in our case for them to slumber in.

Handi and Bear have had sweet dreams in the Tee Pee together every night since it's arrival.

Recent Weekends, Part I

It is so strange to look at the snowy photos from 2 weeks ago, as today we can wear shorts versus the snow pants and boots seen below.  We actually were quite surprised by the amount of snow that came during our Twin Lakes getaway, and we definitely made the most of it.

Mehandis was distraught that we were going to go eat donuts before playing in the beautiful snow.  Imagine that... outdoor snow play over a morning meal of donuts.  He quickly got on his snow gear so he get a taste of winter fun before we left.

The boys fit in 3 different sledding trips and our family created 3 snowmen.
Handi's creation
Abera and I helped assist (in either building or knocking down).
I take credit for decorating this guy.
Another adventure included a Jelly Belly tour, which is half an hour away from the house.  We all rode the train and kept our hair safely enclosed in the mandated hats.  It was pretty interesting actually.  Thankful that Abera enjoyed sitting on this train more than the Amtrak!

I too enjoyed taking time to sit and relax over the long weekend.  Nice.

Despite the chilly temperatures we took off "some" layers to take advantage of the hot tub.  Mehandis and Abera loved it.
One couldn't sense the enthusiasm in Handi at all here, right?

Valentine's Wishes

On this Valentine's Day, I am wishing you...
 Many sweet things,
To dance like nobody is watching,
A warm place to lay your head,
 And continuing passion!
Happy Valentine's Day to all of my dear family and friends!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

You better watch out,
You better not cry,
Better not pout,
I'm telling you why:

Santa Claus is coming to town.

He's making a list,

And checking it twice;
Gonna find out,
Who's naughty and nice.

He sees you when you're sleeping.
He knows when you're awake.
He knows if you've been bad or good,
So be good for goodness sake!

Santa Claus is coming to town.

Merry Christmas to all our friends and family!  Looking forward to seeing many soon.

Cameras, Lights, Action!

One of the most fun parts of preschool performances is checking out the audience of adults.  The number of people filming, snapping pictures and competing to get the best view is almost comical.  However, I am one of those adults now and did luck out with scoring the second row for the boys' daycare Winter Concert.  Too bad my camera can't compete with the others though!

This is the best photo I was able to take of Handi's performance and I ended up deleting all of Bear's.

Gotta love the costuming for The Reindeer Pokey.  "You put your tail in, you put your tail out... and you shake it all about."

Our godson's class sang a modified Bingo song to S-A-N-T-A.  He is below holding the "N".

I think the organizing of the 2 year olds on stage, getting the sequence of the letters and a relative line, took longer than the song.  They were all so cute though.  The teachers really do a great job putting on the performance - and rehearsing.  Now, whenever Abera hears Jingle Bells he points excitedly to the radio and sings his lines, which consisted of "Hey", "Way", "Ha Ha Ha" and "Yeah!"

Later the same week Mehandis's 4K class put on a performance during his elementary school's Winter Sing.

As you might be able to infer, Rudolph was one of the songs!

I think the secret to keeping 4 & 5 year olds still is to stand them on a stage or risers :)
